New Alberta Agent
We welcome Michael Borden of Borden Agencies as the newest member of the Total Protection Solutions agency team. Borden Agencies will grow the TPS brand of surge protection devices in the province of Alberta. Their 40 years in the electrical industry will benefit our distribution partners as well as the end user, contractor and engineering communities.
TPS Canada (a division of International Innovative Systems) has moved our head office to a larger location in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. We now have a board/training room and an expanded shipping and receiving area.
The move will allow us to serve our growing dealer network across Canada. The surge protection market continues to grow as more businesses see the cost savings they can realize by protecting their electrical equipment.
You can find us at 132A Industrial Court, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, P6B 5W6
TPS Canada has added lightning rods to compliment our line of surge protectors.
More than 2,000 lightning flashes occur every minute. Normally, this lightning discharges harmlessly in the atmosphere, but when it strikes the ground, it can cause considerable damage to property. Injuries are possible, even loss of life.
TPS Canada provides world-leading products that divert lightning ground strikes and prevent damage to buildings, property and people.

Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS)
All TPS panel mount units are RoHS compliant. This is good for the enviroment since the units do not contain lead and certain other hazardous chemicals. Since July 1, 2006, European countries in the European Union must require that various types of Electrical and Electronic components sold there be RoHS Compliant. We expect that this standard will soon be adoped in the USA. Some companies are already asking for the RoHS compliance certification.
RoHS is often referred to as the lead-free directive, but it restricts the use of the following six substances:
*PBB and PBDE are flame retardants used in several plastics.
